General Information

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is pleased to announce that the 8th LNG Producer-Consumer Conference will be held on Thursday September 26, 2019 in Tokyo, jointly hosted by the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC). The conference will provide the participants including ministers, heads of international organizations, corporate executives, and other stakeholders with a venue for sharing the latest trends in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and discussing opportunities and challenges with a view to developing the global LNG market.

Objectives

The LNG Producer-Consumer Conference is a global annual dialogue, launched in 2012. The Conference held last October was attended by over 1,000 people from governments, international organizations, and businesses involved in the LNG industry from 28 countries and economies. As the environment surrounding the LNG industry has been undergoing a dramatic transformation, Conference 2019 will provide an opportunity to promote active dialogue among LNG producers, consumers and other stakeholders with a view to deepening shared understandings of market trends and to developing the global LNG market. Also, we continued to have a more active engagement by the private sector in preparing the conference this year, so that it can serve as an effective business platform.
