The LNG Producer-Consumer Conference is a global annual dialogue, which started in 2012. The conference held last year in September was attended by over 1,200 people from governments from thirty-two countries, as well as international organizations and companies involved in the LNG industry.
The current LNG market seems to increase uncertainty such as a drop in demand of LNG and a historical low level of spot prices due to the economic recession caused mainly by COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, on a global scale, LNG market is also facing an enormous wave of de-carbonization and energy transition that occurred mainly from Europe. As the environment surrounding the LNG industry has been undergoing a dramatic transformation, the conference of 2020 will provide an opportunity to promote active dialogue among LNG producers, consumers and other stakeholders with a view towards developing the idea of balancing between tackling the global climate issue and economic recovery and growth. Through this conference, we, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, intend to enhance and strengthen win-win relationships between producers and consumers.
Considering the spread of COVID-19, the conference will be held online. Although this is the first online LNG Producer-Consumer Conference, we would like you to enjoy the unique online conference experience, as we are attempting to make this conference better than ever.
